1) I went to GoodWill and purchased several pink, striped bedsheets (Cost $3)
2) I scanned that fabric into Adobe Photoshop and used the prints as a background for event posters and screen ads.
Next came a Facebook events page...
I made sure to post the poster as well as the YouTube link to the trailer for the movie that we were planning to watch for the event.
Next came my favorite part! I made large pillows out of the same fabric and I placed them around the lobby that all of this building's residents walk though several times per day.
To ensure that residents actually made the connection that the pillows were related to the event, I added informational tags...
This ensured that residents casually and three-dimensionally interacted with the event advertising...
The final step that I took was to create a large banner out of the same fabric and placing in in the lobby on the day of the event...
The final result was a phenomenal event with more residents than we knew what to do with!
